Far from everything:
in between skies as vast as mountains,
and mountains as limitless as the night;
Lives that understand living
in the midst of their fur and the survival
of eternal winters, in tundra that converses
with the wind
and claws stamped on the ground
as warm greetings to non-sourdoughs;
Foreigners on this open land
reminding us
how wild we can all be,
if we stop
to breathe in the peace.
