Unsafe Safety

I cuddled up next to uncertainty time and time again,
loyal partner of mine,
Training each step hand in hand
in this tight rope of life,
She taught me to never lose a smile
even when strength was staggered,
She cheered me on to keep dancing
even if only in my mind;
And now when others cuddle close
shoulder to shoulder
with the same inexistent certainty
I think-
We've got no other way but to learn to partner
the unknown and let our feet live the rhythm
of this constant instability.
