Small Town Beaches
Hidden unintentionally in the fog
lies the secret to a
childhood brewed with
crabs running in the rocks
and minute footsteps chasing between pebbles
the surge of the Cantabrico Sea.
Thickly posed in the horizon,
line of this expansive beach,
where the cloudy sky begins to
tell its story- there poised
sits a past you wrought
with your grandmother - tender
sessions surrounding ice cream or the
most expensive shellfish on the bay.
These raggedy hills, sturdy among
the waves, wrap in their untouchable
arms the smiles of your years,
before I knew the magic
singing out of your
ocean-written eyes.
