You are contemporary tradition-
aspiration of my modern equilibrium-
you greet me from Oslo's Opera House, neighbor to Stav churches, the wood
of your incessant forests
inspiring a landscape, pure and constant, surprising me;
you introduce yourself from a height of simple airs,
confident in its beauty
and its buildings of grandeur;
I know you from past dreams of ancient princesses,
but we understand each other other in a common tongue,
that comprehends the modest fishermen
hugging the colors that clear up his boat
with each morning
of frigid wind and warm sights.
